Heart of the Sea on DonutSMP — What It Does, Where to Find

Heart of the Sea is the rarest ocean drop in Minecraft and only has one use: crafting a Conduit. Worth understanding even if you only ever want to buy one.

Where Heart of the Sea comes from

ONE source only: buried treasure chests found via Treasure Maps. Treasure maps come from:

• Cartographer villagers (master level, 13 emerald trade)
• Shipwreck chests (random loot pool)

The buried treasure hunt

1. Get a treasure map (cartographer or shipwreck)
2. Open the map → follow the X mark
3. Bring shovel — treasure is buried 1-3 blocks deep in sand/gravel
4. Each chest contains EXACTLY 1 Heart of the Sea

Selling Heart of the Sea on DonutSMP

Always craft to Conduit before selling. The materials math:

• Heart of Sea: 50k
• 8 nautilus shells (drowned drops): ~12k
• = 62k total cost
• Sells as Conduit: ~110k
• Profit per conversion: ~48k

The cartographer farm strategy

For dedicated treasure-map farming:

1. Capture 4-6 unemployed villagers near a coast
2. Place cartographer tables, level them
3. Trade for treasure maps repeatedly
4. Run all maps in batched trips (saves travel time)

Costs ~52 emeralds per map. Each map = 1 Heart of the Sea.

Common mistakes

• ❌ Buying treasure maps from non-master cartographers (wrong trades)
• ❌ Forgetting a shovel (treasure buried under sand requires it)
• ❌ Selling raw Hearts instead of crafted Conduits (leaves 50k/heart on the table)
• ❌ Skipping the nautilus shell side-farm (you need them for Conduits anyway)
