Enderman Farm on DonutSMP — End Island XP & Pearls

Enderman farms are the gold standard for XP and ender pearl income. Ender pearls have constant demand on DonutSMP for teleportation, eyes, and ender chest crafting.

Why End-island farms beat overworld

Endermen spawn only on End stone in the End dimension by default. The End has a separate mob cap from the overworld, and the void below the main island = perfect free-fall kill mechanism.

The build

1. Travel to the End, kill the Ender Dragon for safe access
2. Find an outer end island (~1000+ blocks from the main island)
3. Build a 22×22 platform of End stone at Y=60
4. Around the platform, build trap-door perimeter so Endermen path off the edge
5. Use slabs everywhere else to stop other spawns
6. Endermen fall into void → die → drops collected by player at midfall

The drop collection problem

Void kills = no drops normally. Two solutions:

Method A — Player midair kill

Stand below the platform on a slab perch. As Endermen fall past you, swing a sword. You hit them mid-fall, killing them = drops + XP.

Method B — Water bucket softener

Place water 3 blocks below the edge. Endermen land in water, walk to you for 1-tap. Lower yield, easier AFK.

Selling pearls on DonutSMP

Ender pearls are highly in demand. Crystal PvP players need them, Eye of Ender crafters need them, base builders need them.

Pro tip: craft into eyes of ender if you have blaze powder. Eyes sell for 250-350 each on /order.

Looting III impact

Without looting: ~1 pearl / 4 Endermen. With Looting III: ~1.5 pearls / Enderman average. Yield doubles.

Common mistakes

• ❌ Spawn platform on the main End island (Dragon respawn mechanics interfere)
• ❌ Trap-door spacing wrong (Endermen don't path correctly)
• ❌ Wearing a Carved pumpkin head wastes a slot (works but not necessary if you don't look at them)
• ❌ Standing too close (you get teleported by hits)

How to AFK safely

Wear Feather Falling IV boots — even if you slip off the perch, you survive. Bring Slow Falling potions for emergencies. Build an ender chest at base for retrieving drops if you die.

Do I have to wear a pumpkin? No, unless you look directly at Endermen. Keep your camera angled down.

What about the main End island farm? Works but lower yield because of Dragon spawn mechanics + ~100 block radius taken by spawn platform.

Can I farm without killing the Dragon? On DonutSMP the Dragon is usually already dead by the time you arrive. If not, do it in a group.
